It's go time! Spring break and we have officially landed in Costa Rica!

Ten days of shredding perfect, glassy waves with the Pacific Ocean's roar as a constant soundtrack. We’re crashing under the stars in a hammock park, and best of all, Sara is with me 24/7. Whoa! I look up, and a sudden chill, like icy fingers, shoots through me. Dana Race. The name alone tastes like ash in my mouth.

Why is he here?

There he is, that smug grin plastered across his face … the one person I swore to steer clear of forever. Seeing him makes my blood run cold. My messed-up past in Switzerland can only be brought to light by Dana. The unsettling circumstances surrounding Rocco's death is a story that is best left buried.

Meet Stewie, an Aussie surf legend on a pro tour happening in the Osa Peninsula the same week. He's trying to show me how to paddle out of this dark spot, to find the wave to my own forgiveness. Getting mixed up in busting a wildlife bird trafficking ring, chilling with a bunch of top-tier surfers, and finishing the cross for the church we're roofing keep me stoked and distracted – but Dana and my dark cloud keep finding me.
